Severe bends and kinking of HDMI cables can easily cause serious damaging of the internal strands within the cable, resulting in an intermittent signal or even complete signal failure. The use of right angle HDMI adapters can simply and effectively solve this problem in most set-up scenarios.
Most commonly, this adapter is for displays and devices with awkward connector input positions.
The superior build-quality of this adapter makes it perfect for both professional and home installations. The 24K gold input and output connector plug contacts ensures maximum signal transfer and corrosion resistance for perfect performance and lifetime reliability.
Absolutely zero data loss will occur through the use of this adapter. It can be used with high specification HDMI (V.1.3 with Deep Colour) devices/cables with no risk of reduced performance. For the best performance, we recommend that you use our HDMI cables with this product.
A 90-Degree version of this adapter is also available. Which adapter is best suited to your individual set-up will depend on whether the cables are being run up the wall to the display, or down the wall to the display. Please also look closely at the orientation of the HDMI input connector on your display: taking note whether the longer flat size is at the top or the bottom.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
When would I need to use this type of HDMI adapter?
Most commonly, this adapter is used in installations and set-ups where the HDMI input on the display is located in an awkward or restricted position, making it difficult for cable neatly into. This could also apply to source devices in cabinets or situated close to walls. For example when a display panel is being fixed closely and flush to a wall, the horizontal HDMI input direction most commonly found on the rear displays will mean that the cable will need to be plugged in horizontally at right-angles to the wall, potentially resulting in a severe kinking of the cable at the base of the headshell, which is not good for the cable’s performance. In some set-up cases the headshell will protrude too far from the display panel’s casing, making it impossible to fix the display close and flush to the wall. This adapter will solve both of these issues, easily and effectively.
Can this adapter be used on the end of long HDMI cable lengths?
Yes. The adapter will not affect the performance of the cable; it is simply an addition the cable’s headshell changing the angle of the connector. We recommend using our HDMI cables with this product, available up to 15 metres in length. However, if your require lengths longer than this there are additional options available to you. Most commonly, a HDMI extender/repeater block will extend the range of your cable run. For more specialist installations we also stock extra long active HDMI cables and HDMI over CAT5 solutions which can potentially allow your cable run to extend beyond 50 metres.
What will this adapter work with?
This adapter can be connected to any HDMI supported device or cable. These include Blu-ray players, PS3, SKY HD, Xbox 360 Elite, Vigin V+ boxes, laptops and computers, amplifiers, AV Receivers, HDTVs, displays and projectors. Look out for the HDMI logo on your device, if it is there – this adapter can be used with it with no loss of signal quality.
