HDCable.co.uk win Business of the Year 2008.

It is with the greatest sense of pride and pleasure that HD Cable is pleased to announce that we have won two awards at the first annual Salford Business Awards.


We are extremely happy to have won "Business of the Year", the premier award of the evening, presented by Secretary of State, Hazel Blears, who said:

"I am delighted to be here tonight and to present this award. These two young people will truly become the new face of Salford, a fantastic achievement and a fantastic business. We wish them all the best for the future and very much look forward to Salford Business Awards 2009."

It was completely unexpected considering the quality and calibre of the 100 or so other entrants. We are still in a state of shock now, and we feel honoured to be regarded as being at the pinnacle of the businesses operating in Salford.

We also picked up a runner up award for "Entrepreneur of the Year", of which we are also very proud indeed.

As you would expect coming from a winner, the event was thoroughly enjoyable!

Winning the award is an incredible encouragement and motivator for us. It also gives a great sense of validation that what we're doing is good and held in high regard by our peers and that just feels fantastic.

I think it is also important to point out that the high-quality feel, organisation and presentation of the evening displayed an image of Salford that was both consistent with it's historically renowned friendly and welcoming persona, but also reinforced the City's commitment to it's huge ambitions and vision for a forward-thinking, future-conscious place to live and work.

For a company such as ours, operating within the technology industry directly associated with the 'digital age', it was extremely encouraging to hear both the City Council's commitment to providing contempory and modern working environments appropriate for the image of our business, but also the BBC's commitment to raising the profile and re-iterating to the world that Salford WILL be the UK's new media digital power centre bar none.

As you can probably tell, HD Cable is extremely proud of our Salfordian set-up and we are acutely aware of our new responsibility and implied mandate of being representatives of the Salford business community. We are eager to take up that baton and demonstrate the qualities and values inherent within all Salford businesses? An ambitious vision for the future and a friendly, people centered approach in all business activities.
