The HDanywhere™ 4x8 Central Matrix Hub is the heart of your multiroom HD set-up. The 4x8 model enables you to connect up to 4x HDMI sources, accessible at potentially 4 display locations via dual or single runs of Cat5e/6/7 network cabling.
A complete HDanywhere™ multiroom solution comprises of the Central Matrix Hub connected via dual or single runs of Cat5e/6/7 cabling to Display Receivers positioned at each display location. (For example you could have a 4x8 Hub + 3x Display RXs for a 4x source 3x rooms set-up)
Display Receivers at each viewing location converts the Cat5e/6/7 cabling back to HDMI for connection to the display device. Display Receivers are required to be purchased separately in addition to the central hub and there are 2 models to choose from dependant on your individual requirements.
- Dual RJ45 Display Receiver with IR Passback (£99.99)
Requires 2x Cat5e/6/7 cables run back to the central hub. You require this model if you wish to use the IR Passback feature to control the central sources individual functions (such as pause and rewind) at the display location by using either the original remote or a universal remote just as if you were standing right in front of that source. - Single RJ45 Display Receiver with NO IR (179.99)
Requires just a single Cat5e/6/7 cable run back to the central hub. However, this display receiver is limited to providing video/audio only - NO IR Passback. Central source control is the trade-off for using just a single cable.
NB A mixture of both Dual and Single Display Receivers can be used with one hub.
IR Passback means that you can use all of your source device remotes at any of the Display Receiver locations. The IR signal is re-transmitted back at the source device via an IR emitter connected to the Central Hub. All your sources can be kept neatly hidden in a cupboard out of sight without the loss of any control.
Switching between sources using HDanywhere™ is a truly elegant experience via the Master Hub Remote (1 included). The benefits of QuickSwitch & U-HDCP technology ensures instant source switching with absolutely no video interruption for viewers at the other display locations.
