4 x 4 HDTV Multiroom+ System with SingleWire HDBaseT Technology – a four source, four output HD HDMI Matrix distribution package. Enabling the simple connection of up to four HD sources (Sky + HD/BluRay/PS3 etc.), users are finally able to realise the full potential of 1080p High Definition picture and sound quality on up to four screens around the home with the added bonus of high speed internet access points. The package contains all of the necessary components for a DIY install.
Developed as a professional multiroom system using the latest HDBaseT technology, the HDanywhere™ Multiroom+ System converts the HDMI signal so that it can be transmitted along Cat5e/6 cable up to 100m without losing any definition. At the HDTV, a Receiver (RX) converts the Cat5e/6 cable back to HDMI for connection to the TV. The HDMI transmission remains totally uncompressed so pixel-for-pixel, it is exactly the same as using a direct HDMI cable as there is zero loss of quality.
Multiroom+ for High Speed Internet
A fantastic new feature of Multiroom+ comes in response to the popular emergence of on-demand Internet services (such as BBC iPlayer, online gaming, social networking and Smart TVs). Each HDanywhere Receiver now has 2 x 100BT Ethernet ports available for devices requiring a high speed connection to the Internet.
The result is uncompressed HD video & audio with full remote control and fast internet access at every display location. HDanywhere’s adoption of HDBaseT technology allows all this functionality over ‘SingleWire’ making it the perfect choice for retrofitting onto existing home network cabling. DIY installation is easy with just one category 5e/6/7 cable needed per display.
Through the RX full IR remote control of the HDMI source (such as pause, rewind etc) is possible as if you were sitting right in front of the box. An infrared magic eye connected to the RX receives the remote control signals and sends them back to the central hub, where a transmitter beams them out to the source.
Each HDanywhere™ Multiroom Hub and the Display Receivers have integrated mounting brackets for easy, out-of-the-way installation.
The package includes:
1 x Central Hub + Power Supply
4 x Receivers
4 x IR magic eye cables
4 x IR transmitter cable
A selection of Custom Install RS232 drivers

- One of the best A/V investments I've made so far Review by James Gardner
-
Star Rating out of 5? Mine arrived last Wednesday.
So, does it do what it says on the tin? Mostly, yes.
The Good:
It works on a single wire as advertised. It worked perfectly on all my devices out of the box with very little effort indeed.
I have just had Cat6 cable runs put through the house, though I have terminated them into a patch panel (am advised you shouldn't do this) but everything works without any glitching, there are no artefacts on the screen and the switching is fast. Admittedly, I think my cable runs are relatively short - certainly there are none longer than 80m.
The Not So Good:
Although the HDBastT spec provides for power over the cat6 cables, this is not supported on the receivers.
Also the receivers need their own transformer power supply, which makes them highly inconvenient to hide away behind modern thin screens.
The supplier IR control seems to be a bit erratic. You often need multiple button presses to get them to register. I have switched to using my Harmony One remotes in each room, and they are fine. My advice is definitely not to rely on the supplied control, though I suspect most people getting this unit will have programmable remotes anyway.
For some reason I can't get source Input 1 to switch properly from my IR remotes.. though I think this is more likely to be something I am doing rather than any failure in the unit. I'll update the review when I work out the problem.
Other:
One of the IR sensors in the package was faulty, and I'l be returning it for an exchange next week (am writing this at the airport going to the US this week). Frankly, considering the reset is working so well, I am not that bothered. Things sometimes don't work, and I know from reading online that HD Cable *does* have exceptional customer service.
Overall:
Thus far, I am very pleased. Except for having to power the receivers, this is probably one of the best A/V investments I've made so far.

- I swapped out my old matrix, the HDBaseT unit works flawlessly Review by KBlue
-
Star Rating out of 5? I'd been using a Portta 2-wire 4x4 Matrix - however over a 50m run of cable, it simply would not work. Occasionally got a sync, but would drop out immediately.
When I saw this HDBaseT device appear, I was somewhat sceptical - but thought I'd give it a go. It arrived a couple of days ago.
I swapped out my old matrix, and put this one in, and to my amazement - the TV on the 50m cable run worked flawlessly - and only using one wire!! Picture quality is great, and sync is fast.
Other good things are that the receiver modules have IR RX cables, so the setup can be very well hidden behind a screen (my Portta units had the IR RX built into the front of the receiver module unit - so the whole unit had to be visible).
Very minor negatives - the receiver units run quite hot; also the blue lights on the front of the main unit are very bright
In all - very pleased indeed!
