HDMI over CAT5 solutions are becoming more and more popular in both professional and home installations. As with all high definition video installs, high quality cabling is absolutely key to achieving faultless performance, that is why we have introduced our HD video install quality Cat-6 cable reel into our range.
Cat-6 cabling can be used with HDMI over CAT5 devices. We recommend using Cat-6 as it is far superior to using Cat5e cabling. Cat-6 features more stringent specifications for crosstalk and system noise. Cat-6 cabling provides performance of up to 250 MHz, more than double that of category 5 and 5e, which is much better for demanding HD installs. Cat-6 is far more capable of carrying the high signal data required for 1080p resolutions. Using Cat-6 cabling will enable you to send a 1080p signal more reliably and over a further distance that Cat5 a 5e cable.
Cat-6 connectors are made to higher standards that help reduce noise caused by crosstalk and system interference. Attenuation, NEXT (Near End Crosstalk), and PSNEXT (Power Sum NEXT) are all significantly lower when compared to Cat-5/5e.
Our Cat-6 cable can be purchase on long reels of 305 metres, giving users the flexibility to manually cut cable lengths themselves to whatever length is required, perfectly suiting the cable run to the individual and specific needs of their particular set-up scenario. Compared to HDMI cabling, Cat-6 cabling is much easier to work with in big installations, being easily bendable, far more flexible and easier to be pulled through inner wall trunking or tubing.

This cable will work with any HD device using HDMI™ connections - such as Blu-ray, PS3, SKY HD, Xbox 360 Vigin+, laptops and computers (connections permitting), AV receivers, HD displays, top spec HDTVs, monitors and projectors. Look out for the HDMI™ logo on your device, if it is there – this cable will work with ensuring the best possible picture quality that the device is capable of.
