Viewing and controlling your favourite HDTV device (Sky+ HD, Blu-ray player etc.) from a distance has never been easier with the HDMI over Single Cat5 Extender. Utilising HDBaseT technology, the Extender is capable of transmitting full-uncompressed HDMI 1080p and 3D video signals whilst supporting 100Mbps Ethernet and 2-way device control signals over a single 100-metre Cat5e/6 LAN cable.

HDBaseT is the leading edge connectivity technology for long distance transmission of uncompressed HD video and audio, high speed Internet, and control via one network cable. Capable of carrying huge 4K resolutions and 3D formats, HDBaseT is the only truly future-proof long distance transmission technology available and is compatible with high-speed internet and on-demand services (iPlayer, You Tube etc.)

The Extender kit comprises of a Transmitter (TX) and Receiver (RX). The TX transmits over the Cat5/6 cable (up to 100m) to the RX located at the HDTV. Control of all the source functions (such as pause, rewind etc.) is possible via an infrared (IR) 'magic eye' connected to the RX. This 'sees' the remote control signals and sends them back to the TX, where a transmitter 'blasts' them out at the source.

Using just one Cat5 cable, the HDBaseT Extenders are easy to install (mounting brackets are supplied to neaten the install) or retrofit into an existing network without losing connectivity.

*HDcable recommends using good quality Cat 6 cabling for best performance. Cat-5e cabling can be used, but the achievable transmission distances will be reduced by roughly 20%.
**Audio Return Channel (ARC) not currently supported

Using this product to route HD and internet from my home to cabin office at the bottom of my garden.

Not only can I now have Sky Sports News HD on in the background but the wired internet connection is so much better than the old flakey wireless that I was using previously.

Well worth the money! Great product.
