When would I need to use this type of HDMI Converter?
There maybe times when it is not possible to make a direct HDMI to HDMI connection between source and display device. Most commonly, this might occur with older TVs that do not support HDMI connectivity or with existing A/V setups that are costly to replace or change.

Star Rating out of 5? Ordered via Amazon, delivered quickly. The converter looks and feels professional. Plugged the HDMI lead from my SKYHD+ box into the converter unit and used a Component video lead to connect it to the Blackmagic video card installed in my PC. I had to power the converter using the plug supplied. After a few seconds my PC Video card had detected the signal and I had a HD picture on my computer. Have used it frequently since purchase and are very pleased with it. No problems...plug and play!

Star Rating out of 5? Works ok on SD material but not great on HD sources like SKYHD etc ... some display panels cannot interpert the units output. Some do .. a bit hit and miss.

As the customer stated, the results were hit and miss, this happens very rarely and can be down to the context of the install, or subtle variations between source and display device.
