Infinius is our elite range of HDMI switcher units. Eyefix technology actively improves the HDMI signal integrity as it passes through the switcher chipset.
Engineered with the most demanding and challenging set ups in mind, infinius models are built to faultlessly accommodate the intense, high speed data rates associated with Full-HD 1080p 48-bit Deep Colour resolutions even over long cable runs.
Eyefix technology effectively solves signal distortion and degradation that occurs over HDMI cable runs by actively compensating and correcting the signal, reviving it back to the precise (wide open eye pattern) signal quality that it had at the start of the cable run at the source device. This ensures that the signal quality exiting the switcher is as precise as when it first left the source device. For more info on Eyefix technology and how it works click here.
Connect all your various HD source devices (such as HD Satellite Receivers, Games Consoles, Blu-ray & DVD Players) and potentially two display devices (HDTV, projector) to one central hub for the most versatile control over your set-up. The unit supports high specification 24fps and 100Hz devices with the matrix signal routing element of the unit giving the user the flexibility of being able to route any input of their choice to any output of their choice, even if they desire a different input to be shown on each of the displays.
Any connected source device is accessible at any time to be displayed on either of the two outputs; potentially the two outputs could be routed to different rooms. For example a Blu-ray film could be routed to show on output 1 (HDTV - Living Room) whilst Sky+HD is being shown on output 2 (Projector – Dining Room). The unit can also synchronize an input to be shown simultaneously on both displays, so that both rooms would be showing the same source device at the same time.
The unit features a stylish mirrored front panel, 24K gold input connector contacts and a robust metal casing. Switching between the connected devices is easily performed using the slim line matrix remote control provided, simply by pressing the desired input - 1, 2, 3 or 4 shown around the 2 outputs ‘A’ & ‘B’.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What will this HDMI switcher work with?
This switcher unit has been designed to be compatible with a wide range of HD devices such as Blu-ray players, PlayStaion®3, Sky HD, Xbox 360, Vigin+, laptops and computers (connections permitting) amplifiers, HDTV’s and projectors. Look out for the HDMI logo on your device, if it is there this unit should be compatible with it.
I need to run a HDMI connection longer than 15 metres from the unit, what do you recommend?
A HDMI extender/repeater block will extend the range of your cable run connected to the switcher. However, for a more more specialist and reliable solution we also stock extra long active HDMI cables as well as HDMI over CAT5 solutions which can potentially allow your cable run to extend beyond 50 metres.
What is the difference between a Switcher, a Splitter and this Matrix unit?
The key difference with a Matrix unit is that you can have multiple HDMI inputs being routed to different outputs simultaneously, so for example, you may have Sky HD being routed to your bedroom and a PS3 routed to the living room, all at the same time. This differs to a switcher where it is designed for use with one display. A splitter is designed for use with multiple displays. A switcher will allow you to connect multiple inputs devices to a single display with only one HDMI input available for example. A splitter will allow you to split a signal to multiple displays, an example would sending a Sky Sports HD image to 4 screens simultaneously around a bar.
How does this switcher differ to your Pro-2 switcher models?
The primary difference between the two ranges is the quality of construction and assembly of the units. The Infinius range uses more expensive internal components and is more robust in build-quality. The Pro-2 range is designed more with simplicity and ‘no frills’ functionality and budget in mind. The Infinius is professional unit of high caliber and the Pro-2 unit is more suited to simpler installs.

- very good product with no recognisable losses in picture quality Review by jk2

Star Rating out of 5? I have connected sky HD, pioneer 320 blu-ray and a ps3 connected to a pioneer 5090 plasma - overall its a very good product with no recognisable losses in picture quality BUT the sound does cut out now and again when switching - a reset on the switch solves the problem every time - shame there is no facility to firmware upgrade as I am sure the hdcable tech team would be able to sort it out.....

Star Rating out of 5? Being a producer of HD Corporate video, our studio uses two separate High Definition displays with source feeds from Studio HDV VTR machines, SKY HD Box and Panasonic BD55 Blu ray Player.
Our displays consist of an Optoma HD Projector and a Panasonic Viera HD Plasma Panel.
We required a system that could switch all the source material and equipment using HDMI HD to play on both displays at the same time OR separate material from different sources switched to each independent display.
We have tried various cheaper switchers which caused us problems especially when switching SKY HD material and their latest updated HDCP compliant system which must be taken into consideration as some cheaper switchers use version 1.0 HDCP compliance which is simply becoming out of date.
HD Cables helped us to solve our problems by working together to find suitable equipment that worked perfectly with both displays, the EYEFIX Matrix box does exactly what we wanted and allows us the freedom to switch our sources and various equipment to either display or both together.
It might be a little more expensive than some switchers around but getting over the latest HDCP compliance specifications (which cheaper boxes wouldn't do) this device has been the perfect solution and any Professional or home theatre owner that wants to use two separate displays in different rooms with various HD HDMI sources should consider the flexibility and compatibility this unit can offer.
HD Cables are a very good Company to deal with, they care for their customers and offer excellent pre and after sales support.
