Easily and effectively convert the analogue video signals from a VGA connection; encoding them to a digital HDMI signal for use with HDMI supported displays.
For example, if your laptop or PC does not incorporate a digital visual output such as a DVI connection, then the older and more commonly found 15-pin analogue VGA connection can be converted to HDMI, so that the images can be displayed on any HDMI connectable display such as a large HDTV or projector.
The unit also encompasses R/L stereo phono audio input connections so that audio can be transmitted via the HDMI output also. The unit encodes digital audio onto the video signal for a complete HDMI output signal comprising of both digital video and audio.

When would I need to use this type of VGA to HDMI Converter?
When a display device does not incorporate a VGA input, but does have HDMI connectivity, this converter unit is ideal for enabling the images produced via a VGA connection and cable to be displayed on the HD display. Most commonly, this unit is used in conference room presentation, school classroom and corporate training environment set-ups. People with older PCs and laptops that only have a VGA output also use this unit to display their computer screen image on their home HDTV. This converter unit can be connected between any source device outputting images via VGA and any HDMI supported display device.
Can this converter be used with long HDMI cable lengths?
Yes. Although the unit does not amplify the HDMI signal, it will not affect the performance of the cable. We recommend using our HDMI cables with this product, available up to 15 metres in length. However, if your require cable runs longer than this there are additional options available to you. Most commonly, a HDMI extender/repeater block will extend the range of your cable run. For more specialist installations we also stock extra long active HDMI cables and HDMI over CAT5 solutions which can potentially allow your cable run to extend beyond 50 metres.

Star Rating out of 5? this product was purchased to go from a PC's built in VGA port from its mainboard to a 32" tv that has HDMI inputs. It worked perfectly straight out of the box. Just plugged in the cables and instantly showed on the screen. An excellent buy.
